NFL week 9, and Monday night football dishes up the Philadelphia Eagles hosting the Chicago Bears. The line and odds movements have all been one way with apparently little support for the Bears in either market. The opening NFL Point Spread for this matchup saw the Eagles posted as -7 favorites, this line has moved out by two points to -9. In the odds market the Eagles opened at -330(1.3) and are currently -391 (1.256) while the Bears opened at +289 (3.89) and are currently on offer at +338 (4.38). The over under total line has moved in a point from the open to currently sit at o/u 47.
Philadelphia’s impressive 34-7 win last week over the Cowboys is still fresh in everyone’s minds. All the while the Bears were resting up with the bye, and looking ahead to this game. That solid win by the Eagles at home last week took them to 3-4 straight up for the season. Their record against the closing point spread stands at 3-4 and they have a 3-3-1 record in over under betting. Chicago on the other hand have a 4-3 straight up record and stand 3-4 against the spread and in over under.
Comparing each teams stats we see that the Eagles have averaged 25.6 points per game which is (9th) in the league to the Bears 24.3 (14th). Point’s differential also favors the Eagles who are +3.86 to the Bears +2.86. In average yards per game, Philadelphia is ranked (1st) in the league with 449.3 while Chicago is averaging 337.4 (17th). Similar story with rushing yards where the Eagles are (1st) with 179.9 and the Bears are (15th) with 114.7. So basically the only significant stat that the Bears have over the Eagles coming into this game is a better win percentage, which is pretty handy.
TheFootballLines.com's take on this one, is a play on the Bears at +9 against the spread which we were able to get at -109 (1.91) with a little line shopping amongst the Top Sportsbooks.
