NFL week 12 and Thursday nights matchup between the Baltimore Ravens v San Francisco 49ers has all the ingredients to be the must see game, not only on Thanksgiving Day, but of all week 12 action. First off we will have NFL history in the making as brothers (Jim Harbaugh 49ers head coach & John Harbaugh Ravens head coach) become the first brothers in NFL history to match up against one another. Then there is the football between the (1st placed AFC North) Ravens v the (1st placed NFC West) 49ers.

The Latest NFL Lines see the Ravens as -3.5 favorites after opening at -4.5. The over under line is at o/u 38.5 which is down half a point from the opening and in money line odds the Ravens are trading around -178 (1.56) and the 49ers +160 (2.6).

So all of that aside, lets look at the stats. The Ravens are 7-3 straight up, 5-4-1 against the closing point spread, 7-3 in over under betting and +$103 in money line odds betting (for $100 bets each week). Baltimore's win have come against PIT (35-7), STL (37-7), NYJ (34-17), HOU (29-14), ARI (30-27), PIT (23-20) & CIN (31-24). Their 3 losses were against TEN (13-26), JAC (7-12) & SEA (17-22).

The 49ers have won 9 and lost 1 this season straight up. They are 9-1 against the point spread, 5-4 in over under results and show a league best profit of +$862 against the money line odds. The 49ers are on an 8 game winning streak with their only loss of the season coming against the Cowboys in week 2 (24-27). San Francisco are ranked (20th) in total yards per game with 322.5, (27th) in passing yards with 188.3 and (6th) in rushing yards with 134.2. By comparison the Ravens are (15th) in total yards with 343.9, (12th) in passing yards with 244.3 and ((23rd) in rushing with 99.6.

Interestingly when it comes to average points per game, both teams have scored 256 points in their 10 games for an average of 25.6. When it comes to defense they are both impressive however the 49ers have the numbers with an average of only 14.5 points allowed per game to the Ravens 17.6.

The verdict - Well a common mistake the recreational gambler makes is to place a wager just to have some action, be it on the televised game or their favorite team. We don't work like that here at The Football and our handicapping of this game agrees with the current sportsbooks odds, spread and total for this one. So while it should be entertaining, we will only be watching.
