Sunday Night Football brings us the Philadelphia Eagles up against the New York Giants. The NFL Spread shows that the sportbooks have this game as nearly a coin toss with the current spread being Philadelphia -1 New York +1. The NFL moneyline odds market sees the Eagles trading between -130 ($1.77) up to -126 ($1.79) while the Giants are priced between +110 ($2.10) up to +114 ($2.14). The over under total opened the week at O/U46.5 and has since moved out a point to currently sit at O/U47.5.

Those lines and odds are seeing wagers placed nearly twice as often on New York than Philadelphia. Currently around 65% of point spread bets are on the Giants and 67% of moneyline wagers. The over under totals market sees 58% of wagers placed being on the result going over and 42% on the under.

The Eagles are 2-1 with wins over Cleveland (17-16) and Baltimore (24-23), with their loss coming last week against Arizona (6-27). In NFL wagering results Philadelphia are 0-3 -$300 against the point spread and they are -$13 against the closing moneyline odds. In totals betting they are 1-2 with two games staying under and one going over the closing total.

Eli Manning's Giants are also 2-1 having defeated the Panthers (36-7), Tampa Bay (41-34) and going down to the Cowboys (17-24). Wagering results see them 1-2 -$105 against the point spread and +$68 against the moneyline odds while their totals results have gone under, over, under.

Both quarterbacks will need protection with these two defensive lines more than capable of getting after the passer. Thus far Eli Manning has averaged 337 passing yards per game with a 66.9% completion rate, 5 touchdowns and has been sacked 4 times. By comparison Michael Vick has averaged 301.7 yards with a 55.2% completion rate, has 3 touchdowns and 9 sacks against his name.

If you like betting trends, then the recent regular season history between the Eagles and Giants throws up a few. The last ten games has seen the Eagles prevail 6 times too the Giants 4. The home field advantage has not seemed to be a factor with the home v away record being 3-7. Another lopsided stat is the fact that these matchups have proven profitable for underdog backers with the favorite v underdog record at 2-8. The team who wins outright has covered the spread 10-0 and the over under record is 4-6. The average game total is 44.35 and all ten games have seen totals in the 40's.

No plays until next week for us here at TheFootballLines.com however with being on the road not seeming to be a handicap and Manning and Co looking sharp last week it will take a big form reversal from the Eagles to get the win here.
