The Carolina Panthers try to play the role of spoilers as they host the Atlanta Falcons in NFL week 14. The point spread for this game opened at Carolina +3 and the total opened at o/u 48.5. Both markets have seen movement through out the week with the Latest NFL Lines seeing the Panthers in 1.5 points to +1.5 and o/u 47 in the NFL over under line. As far as the money line odds prices are concerned the Panthers are currently +122 (2.22) and the Falcons -35 (1.74).

Carolina is looking for their third win in a row having beaten the Colts (19-27) and Buccaneers (19-38) in their past games. The Panthers are 4-8 straight up for the season with a negative point's differential of -2.83. At home they are 2-4 with wins over JAC (16-10) and WAS (33-20) and losses to GB (23-30), NO (27-30), MIN (21-24) and TEN (3-30). In NFL wagering results the Panthers are 7-4-1 against the closing point spread, 7-5 in over under betting and -$535 against the average closing money line odds ($100 bets each week).

The Falcons are coming off a 7 point loss to the Texans (10-17) which took their straight up record for the season to 7-5. On the road this season Atlanta is 3-3 with wins over IND (31-7), DET (23-16) and SEA (30-28) while their losses have been against CHI (12-30), TB (13-16) and HOU (10-17). Against the closing point spread the Falcons are 4-6-2, over under results are 3-9 with their last 8 games all staying under the closing total and they show a profit of +$9 against the money line odds.

The verdict - TheFootballLines.com's handicapping numbers show value on the Panthers. We got in earlier and took the Panthers on the money line at +130 (2.30) and at +3 on the point spread. We still see value at the current moneyline odds, however the cut off point for the spread is +3 so we would leave it alone at the current line. As far as the over under total is concerned our number is pretty much in line with the sportsbooks so no play there.
